Recovery Coaches

MHF is recruiting for Recovery Coaches to work closely with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and their support networks, to foster hope, build the capacity and resilience of the participants and their support networks. Recovery Coaches will work collaboratively to co-design and co-produce a participants plan, coordinate and evaluate supports to work towards participants individual goals and needs.

MHF is recruiting for two different Recovery Coach roles: lived experience (peer) and learned experience.

Registered Nurse

The nurse will provide, under limited supervision, quality clinical nursing skills and care to achieve sound recovery outcomes. It is also an expectation that you will contribute to the multidisciplinary team in change processes. You will be required to undertake professional development, supervision, participate in quality initiatives and contribute to the multidisciplinary team processes.

Recovery Mentor

Recovery Mentors deliver mental health services to people with the lived experience within the guidelines of their Individual Recovery Plans under the supervision of the Program Manager with additional guidance from Senior Recovery Mentors.

How to access STAR services:


Participants can be referred to the service by a health professional such as a GP, psychologist, other health support networks (formal or informal).

They can also self-refer or be referred by their NDIS Support Coordinator or Plan Manager.


After a referral form is received, staff will arrange an assessment interview to meet the participant to discuss their needs. This interview can take place at STAR, or at another agreed location.
