Clear Path Counselling Services

You have unique needs, we have a range of options

Clear Path Counselling provides a broad range of service models to meet the needs of all individuals. We will work with you to find the right approach. Some of the models we use are:

Single session therapy (SST) is an approach which makes the most of each encounter with individuals, couples or families by treating each appointment, but especially the first as though it may be the only contact.  At the same time, it lays the foundation for ongoing work if required and requested by the client(s).  SST is not a quick fix approach but rather a complete therapy process that involves generative conversations with people seeking and building upon their knowledge and experience.

CBT is one of the most widely used counselling approaches because it’s evidence-based, practical, and structured. It helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, clients can develop more balanced perspectives and healthier responses. CBT is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and behavioural issues. Counsellors often integrate CBT to help clients build coping skills and reduce symptoms in a focused and goal-oriented way.

Also known as Rogerian therapy, Person-Centred Therapy places the client at the heart of the process. Developed by Carl Rogers, this approach believes that people are inherently capable of growth and change when provided with the right conditions—empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine presence. Counsellors using this method create a non-judgmental and supportive environment, allowing clients to explore their feelings and develop deeper self-awareness. This approach is particularly helpful for clients dealing with self-esteem issues, identity, relationship concerns, and emotional distress.

SFBT is a short-term, strengths-based approach that focuses on the client’s goals rather than problems. Instead of analysing the past, counsellors using SFBT work with clients to identify solutions and build on what’s already working in their lives. It’s especially useful for people who want quick, practical outcomes—such as improving communication, navigating transitions, or overcoming specific challenges. Counsellors ask targeted, future-focused questions that help clients envision positive change and take manageable steps toward their goals.

ACT is a modern, mindfulness-based approach that helps clients accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. It combines acceptance strategies with values-based action, encouraging clients to live in alignment with what matters most to them. Counsellors use ACT to help people increase psychological flexibility and reduce avoidance behaviours. It’s effective for anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, grief, and general life dissatisfaction. ACT also incorporates mindfulness techniques that can be integrated into everyday life.
